Description

Broomholm Garden Cottage is a house that has been divided into two properties, dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed of flint, brick, and carstone, topped with thatched roofs, and has an L-shaped plan. The part known as Broomholm faces the road and features a two-storey facade that is plastered and whitewashed. There are six brick buttresses at the ground floor, which separate one 18th-century three-light casement window from three 20th-century casements. The first floor has three additional 20th-century casements. The gabled roof has parapeted gabled walls supported by brick kneelers, and there is a ridge stack located left of the center.

To the east, there is a single-storey gabled extension beneath a thatched roof, which has one 20th-century casement window. An internal gable stack is present on the east side. The long cross wing at the rear forms Garden Cottage, which is one storey with a dormer attic. This section has three doorways and four windows arranged in an irregular pattern, with three eyebrow dormers above the eaves line featuring casements, all of which are from the 20th century. The gabled roof has an internal gable stack to the north and a ridge stack left of center. Inside Broomholm, one stop-chamfered ceiling beam with run-out stops remains.
