Description

The Pilgrim House is a house with origins dating back to the late 16th century, featuring some alterations. It is constructed of flint with brick quoins and has a thatched roof. The building has an L-shaped plan and a south facade that is rendered, consisting of two storeys. The ground floor is recessed beneath an oversailing first floor, which is supported by six rebuilt piers. Between these piers are two casement windows, while the first floor has two further casements that project into the thatch. The roof is gabled, with partly external gable end stacks on both the east and west sides, and the gable heads rest on kneelers.

To the east, there is a single-storey extension covered with black glazed pantiles. The cross wing at the rear is the earliest part of the building and has two storeys. It features early 19th century casements set under segmental arches, with the upper storey windows having been renewed and raised into the roof below eyebrow dormers. On the left side, there is an entrance outshut beneath a catslide roof, which is lit by one 19th century casement window. Above this is a wedge dormer. The north gable is made of flint on brick kneelers and has an internal gable stack. The interior was not accessible during the time of the re-survey.
