Description
Grange Cottages is a house, now divided into two properties, dating from the mid-17th century. It is constructed of flint and brick with brick dressings and features a thatched roof. The building has two storeys on a brick plinth. There is a 20th-century door located to the right of the centre, beneath a 20th-century gabled porch. To the left, there are two 20th-century casement windows and one sash window. On the first floor, there are four windows arranged from left to right: a 20th-century casement, an 18th-century three-light casement, a 19th-century casement in a reduced 17th-century opening, and a two-light square 17th-century window. The gabled roof has parapet gables on kneelers and internal end stacks. The rear of the building features fenestration that is largely from the 18th century, but includes one five-light mullioned casement on the ground floor and a similar four-light first-floor window, both of which are 17th-century. The interior retains inglenook fireplaces with bressumers and has hollow and roll moulded spine beams.
