Description

Nos 26 and 28 Church Street is a small two-storey building from the early to mid-19th century that has been refronted with a two-storey shop front from the early 20th century. The shop front features a central projection with rounded corners and a doorway set at an angle in the middle. There is also a central doorway for the upper floor located in a recess, topped with an entablature that has a deep frieze and a blind case. The first-floor windows mirror the shape of those on the ground floor but lack doors and are adorned with decorative cast iron cresting above. The building has a black-glazed pantile roof. At the rear, the structure is finished with painted flint cobbles and includes a sash window. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 18, 20, and 22, Cromer Baptist Church, and Nos 1 to 7 (consecutive) The Gangway, including No 1 Surrey Street.
