Description
The tower located 30 meters northwest of Welle Manor Hall is a Grade II listed structure dating from around 1480. It is an octagonal brick tower that originally flanked the west side of the former entrance to a courtyard, but the surrounding walls have since been removed, leaving the tower free-standing. The south side features a doorway with a segmental head that leads to a brick winder staircase, which ascends to the parapet. The three facets facing north are decorated with three tiers of panels, each panel showcasing a head with two trefoils made from moulded brick. Above these panels is a crenellated parapet that is supported by an arcade of moulded trefoils, with three trefoils on each facet.
