Description
Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse that dates back to the 17th century for its south range, with the north range being a refacing of an earlier structure around 1800, and featuring early 20th-century details and re-roofing. The south range is constructed of knapped flint with stone rustication, while the north face is made of rubble flint with stone rustication gables and rubble clunch with brick dressings on the south face. The building has red pantiled roofs and is designed in an 'L' plan over two storeys.
The south front of the south range has two ground floor three-light arched framed casements and one two-light casement. On the first floor, there are three two-light casements and two three-light casements, all from the early 20th century. There is an off-centre inserted doorway. The first floor on the west side features one fire window and one half-blocked brick dressed 17th-century window, while the east side shows stitching of two blocked brick dressed windows. The building has stone quoins, brick kneelers, and 20th-century coped parapets. There is one west end stack and one ridge stack from around 1900.
The west gable has a blocked attic brick rusticated rectangular 17th-century window, and the east gable has one blocked ground window and one attic brick rusticated rectangular window, along with an ex situ wooden framed two-light casement from around 1600. There are two enlarged north windows in partly 17th-century brick frames. The rear of the farmhouse has two partly blocked ground floor and three first floor stone rusticated windows, as well as a blocked door on the west side. The rear wing to the north has a refacing in English bond red brick from around 1800, featuring two ground floor tripartite sashes with glazing bars under rubbed brick segmental arches with recessed tympanums, and four first floor casements.
