Description
This is a barn located 30 metres east of Sedgeford Hall, dating from the 18th century with a datestone from 1714. The structure is built of coursed and squared carstone and knapped flint, featuring carstone galleting and brick dressings, topped with a red pantiled roof on the south gable and west front facing Sedgeford Hall. The south gable includes brick quoins, a plinth, eaves level string courses, and brick tumbling, along with a partly filled window opening that contains a 20th-century casement with glazing bars. The stone datestone reads "Edm Rolfe Maior 1714," which may have been inserted in the early 20th century. The west front is blank, while the east front features three double boarded 20th-century garage doors and an inserted datestone from 1692. There is a lower carstone and pantiled workshop wing at the northeast, and the north gable has carstone with an attic gable window.
