Description
This building is a barn with an attached stable range, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of flint rubble, with some random brick used in the flint and brick quoins, eaves, and gable parapets, which feature brick tumbling and coping. The roof is made of pantiles and has gabled ends.
The barn has a plan that includes three bays, with a central cart entrance facing the yard at the back of the Ostrich Inn, and a smaller doorway opposite at the back. On the front right of the barn, there is a single-storey range of three stables, which extends at its southeast end. The main cart entrance has a later projecting extension with double doors.
The exterior is single-storey. The central cart entrance of the barn is glazed above the later projecting plank double doors. At the rear, there is a small doorway in a brick surround with a segmental head, which is now boarded over. The single-storey stable range on the front right of the barn is made of flint and partly brick, featuring a gable-ended pantile roof and plank divided doors; it is encased at the southeast end in corrugated iron. The interior has not been inspected.
