Description
Daycotts End is a house that was formerly a vicarage, built around 1770 and altered in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of brick and has a slate roof. The building is two storeys high and features three bays with canted returns. The central entrance has a panelled door with margin lights and is topped by a seven-vaned fanlight. It is framed by a porch supported on Roman Doric columns and has a flat entablature. The central bay projects forward above the porch, and there are paired thin pilaster strips on either side of the elevation.
On either side of the porch, there is one sash window with glazing bars, which is set beneath gauged skewback arches. The first floor has three smaller but similar sash windows. A console eaves cornice runs below the hipped mid-19th century roof. The canted returns, added in the mid-19th century, also feature sash windows with glazing bars beneath gauged skewback arches. There are two symmetrical stacks on the rear roof slope, and a large 19th-century wing at the rear, which is not of special interest.
