Description
The Cottage is a house built in the early 19th century and enlarged in 1874. It is constructed of brick, with later additions made from gault brick and features slate roofs. The building has a double pile plan and stands two storeys tall. The central 20th-century door is flanked by a four-light metal casement window with intact glazing bars on either side, both set under segmental heads and gauged skewback arches. Above, there are two similar windows and a two-light window over the door, all under flat heads. The parapet was added in 1874 when the western portion of the house was constructed. The flat roof features two short gables with single and double flued stacks. The eastern front has similar timber windows, and there is a two-storey extension with windows that replicate those of the earlier structure.
