Description
A row of four memorials, dating from the third quarter of the 18th century, is located approximately 1 to 5 meters south of the southeast angle of the south aisle of the Church of St. Mary. These headstones are made of limestone.
- The first memorial, dated 1768, commemorates Elizabeth Cross, aged 24, and her infant son Richard. It features a segmental head with cherubs and two convex inscription panels separated by Corinthian pilasters, along with a four-line verse below.
- The second memorial, from 1767, honors William Cross and has a segmental head with two cherubs and a segmental-headed inscription panel, also with a four-line verse below.
- The third memorial, for Richard Cross (1767) and his wife Martha (1769), has a double scrolled head with two cherubs and a festoon, featuring two convex segmental-headed inscription panels separated by reeded pilasters.
- The fourth memorial, dated 1765, is for Amy Hall and has a scrolled head with two cherubs and festoons, with a convex segmental-headed inscription panel flanked by reeded pilasters.
