Description
A row of six cottages dating from around 1800, built upon an earlier structure. The cottages are constructed of colourwashed brick with a pantile roof. They extend for eight bays and are two storeys in height, featuring four axial stacks and a dentil cornice. The recessed sash windows have glazing bars: the windows in bays one and two have six panes each, while bays three to eight have four panes arranged in a four-by-four pattern. There are boarded doors located between bays two and three, three and four, four and five, five and six, and to the left of bay eight. A renewed four-panelled door is situated between bays six and seven. The right return exhibits a steeply pitched 17th-century gable end that was later raised from one to two storeys, constructed with a mosaic of flint and brick. The rear of the cottages features a continuous two-storey extension under a raised roof. The cottages form a group with the Church of St. Botolph and The School, and are included on the list for their group value.
