Description

The stable block, located 30 metres north of Ingoldisthorpe Hall, dates from around 1830. It is constructed from carstone coursed rubble and squared coursed carstone blocks, with ashlar dressings and slated roofs. The building has a single-storey "L" shaped plan, featuring two curtain walls with arches that create a rectangular courtyard, flanked by two angle towers in a Gothick style.

The east front, on the south side, includes an octagonal angle tower with dressed stone quoins and battlements. The central curtain wall has a four-centred arch opening, while the north side appears to have a three-storey rectangular battlemented tower, which is actually a single storey with a lean-to roof above. The east front of this "tower" features one ground floor casement, with the first and second floor windows covered by painted boards displaying Gothick tracery. The quoins and battlements are also present here.

The lower battlemented curtain wall to the south includes a single-storey arched entrance. The south curtain wall has a four-centred arch, while the north side features two casements and one Gothick traceried four-centred door leading into the courtyard. The west range facing the courtyard has two double carriage doors and one Gothick door. The south return of the west range is topped with a gable and flanked by two rectangular towers.
