Description
The Church of St Faith is a parish church that is now redundant, primarily built in the 14th century. It features flint rubble construction with stone and brick dressings, and has a smut pantile roof that extends continuously over the nave and chancel, sweeping down over the south aisle. The west tower is unbuttressed and includes a frieze and flush-work panels below the parapet. The church has two-light south windows in the nave and chancel, as well as at the east end of the aisle, all featuring 20th-century leaded glazing. There is a blocked north door to the nave and a fragment of a stone preaching cross, carved with a crucifixion, located in the south wall of the chancel. The arcade to the south aisle is supported by octagonal piers and features double-chamfered arches. There are traces of a fine scheme of wall paintings, including a foliage pattern and groups of figures. The arcade arches display zig-zag patterning and two large roundels in the spandrels. Above the nave and chancel is an 18th-century king post roof.
