Description
The Old Vicarage is a house that was formerly the vicarage for St Mary's church, built in the late 18th century or early 19th century. It features red brick construction and hipped slate roofs, with two storeys and attics. The building has a double-pile 'M' roof and a principal facade that consists of five bays. The central bay is slightly advanced and has a pediment adorned with dentil ornament. There is a plain string course at the first floor level, and the windows are sashes with glazing bars set beneath rubbed brick arches. The central doorway is framed by a pedimented doorcase. There are two chimney stacks, and the openings on the south and east sides have segmental heads. On the south side, there are two segmental-headed dormers. Additionally, there may be an earlier two-storey wing to the southeast, which has a hipped roof, brick dentil eaves, and plain corner pilasters, with casements that feature leaded glazing.
