Description

The barn at Malthouse Farm is likely late 16th century in origin, with substantial rebuilding in the late 17th century. It is constructed of red brick and pantiles, with 18th-century lean-to additions to the south and west. This three-bay barn has a central barn door. The end sections exhibit a random English bond pattern on brick and flint, set upon a plinth. The eastern parapet gable features a string course and ventilation slots. Lean-to additions incorporate barn doors, stable doors, and Yorkshire windows. The barn is included on the heritage register primarily for its contribution to the group value of the surrounding buildings.
