Description
Lodge Farmhouse is a farmhouse that consists of two main sections built in the 17th century and 19th century, with a possibly earlier core. It features colourwashed brick and slate roofs, with a hipped roof over the 19th-century range. The original 17th-century part is 'T'-shaped, and the early 19th-century addition is on the west front, creating a double pile structure. The building has two storeys and attics, with sash windows that have glazing bars, and some attic casements.
The main facade has three bays, with the center bay being advanced and pedimented. The ground floor features sash windows with sidelights, set in segmental headed openings. There is a central doorway with a wooden doorcase and cornice, topped by a rectangular fanlight with glazing bars. The wide eaves overhang has plain brackets on the soffit.
Chimney stacks are located on the ridge line of the earlier range and at the junction of the double pile. The south gable of the rear range has brick platbands, a parapet with brick tumbling, and rusticated brick quoins. There is a three-light attic casement with segmental heads and a later gabled porch on the south side.
