Description
The barn at Hall Farm, dated 1737, is located 61 metres south-east of the War Memorial in Halvergate. The eastern wall was rebuilt in the 19th century. It is constructed of red brick with glazed headers and has a thatched roof. The barn features three bays, with an outshut to the west and a lower extension to the south. The barn doors, which are off-centre, have a segmental head on the eastern side. There is a stable window made of cast iron with a semi-circular head and glazing bars, as well as a stable door located south of the barn doors. The gables have parapets with tumbling in. Additional features include a blocked door, lozenge-shaped honeycomb vents, monogram tie irons, a datestone, and an owl hole in the north gable. The roof is supported by butt purlins and is wind-braced to the south. The southern range of the barn is not of special interest. The datestone reads "I.G. 1737."
