Description
The Stores and the adjoining house to the west is a terraced house and shop dating from the mid 18th century. It is constructed of red brick and covered with black pantiles. The building has an 'L'-shaped plan, consisting of two storeys and attics, with a two-storey range and a lean-to basement range at the rear. The facade features five bays, with the western bay added in the late 19th century.
The central entrance has a half-glazed door topped with a projecting open pediment. To the right, there is a 19th-century double shopfront that includes a central half-glazed door. The windows have semi-circular traceried heads, glazing bars, pilasters, a fascia, and consoles that support a cornice. The sash windows are fitted with glazing bars and have a moulded timber architrave and flat gauged brick arches. There is a blank central window above the shop front and a suspended projecting timber shop sign from the early 20th century. The eaves are decorated with brick modillions.
A gabled dormer features a sash window with glazing bars, and the hipped roof has a left-hand axial stack. The rear range includes casement windows and a fanlight over the door with 19th-century glass.
