Description
Manor Cottage is a house dating from the 18th century, with a 19th-century south wing. It is built of red brick and has a reed-thatched roof. The building has 1½ storeys and a T-shaped plan. The windows are mainly casement style, with most being from the 20th century. There are large window openings on the ground and first floors in the gables, featuring moulded brick drip moulds. The east and west gables are parapeted with brick tumbling, and there is a moulded brick eaves oversailing with copings. A moulded string course runs along the building. On the west gable, there is a stone tablet set in a moulded brick surround. The south-west angle has a curved porch, and there is a first-floor oriel window in the south gable. The house features a central chimney stack with four square attached shafts, and there are 20th-century lean-tos on the north side. An eyebrow dormer is located on the north side of the roof.
