Description

No. 1 Tittleshall Road is a corner shop and dwelling built around 1860. It features gault brick with some red brick and stucco dressings, topped with slate roofs. The building is two storeys high, with arched openings on the ground floor. The entrance is located on the curved corner and is flanked by triple openings supported by colonnettes with leaf capitals. On the upper floor, there are twin sash windows and a balcony at the corner, along with twin sash windows to the west and triple sash windows to the south. The balcony is supported by three shaped brackets and has a decorative metal railing. The projecting eaves have occasional brackets. The south face of the building continues with two bays in red brick, featuring a large arched entrance to a workshop next to an arched sash window with glazing bars, and two twin sash windows above. The west face also continues with two bays, including a slightly advanced gabled entrance bay with an arched front door and an arched window above, which has a balcony. There are twin sash windows to the side. The remaining houses in the row are not of special interest.
