Description

The Bull Inn is a public house that dates back to the 17th century, with former stables from the 18th century and an early 19th-century side extension. The building features a rendered timber frame with flint and brick gable ends, brick stables, and a colour-washed brick side extension. It has pantiled roofs, with the original block being black. The structure is two storeys tall, with attics in the original block.

The original block consists of two bays, featuring 19th-century sash windows on the ground floor and three-light casements above, along with flat-headed dormers that have two-light casements with glazing bars. There are gable-end stacks present. The 19th-century side extension has three bays, with four sash windows that include glazing bars and one later 19th-century replacement. The entrance has a central raised and fielded panelled door, framed by a doorcase with reeded pilasters and a flat hood supported by a pair of shaped brackets. Steps lead up to the door, with swept metal railings.

The former stables create a frontage along Mileham Road, featuring three sash windows with glazing bars on the upper floor and three ground floor windows beyond (one of which is blocked) with segmental heads. A dentilled cornice and a carriage entrance are located beside the main block. Inside the original block, there are beams with ogee and nicked stops, a brick fireplace with a plain chamfered shallow arch, and some 18th-century doors with raised and fielded panels. The original block also has jowled wall posts and a butt-purlin roof.
