Description

This is a house, built around 1760-70, which was later subdivided into a house and 7 flats in the 20th century. It’s constructed of red brick laid in a header bond pattern, with pantiled roofs.

The building has two storeys and twelve windows across the front. There’s a projecting three-window section in the centre with a projecting pediment. The main entrance is on the right side of this section, featuring a double-leaf door with an overlight. The door is framed by unfluted Roman Doric columns, a block entablature and a pediment. Most of the windows are 19th-century sashes with six panes per sash (6/6), although one first-floor window is original to the 18th century. Some windows are blind, both on the ground and first floors. A platband runs across the first floor, and there's a moulded brick cornice at the eaves. The gabled roof is topped by four decorative ridge stacks and has a sundial face on the south gable.

The rear elevation includes a cast-iron two-bay verandah and two Venetian windows on the first floor, alongside further 6/6 unhorned sashes. A two-storey rear wing extends from the main building, also with 6/6 unhorned sashes.

Inside, there's a staircase from the 1920s with twisted balusters.
