Description

This is a 19th-century tower mill built in 1856, located 20 yards southeast of Mill House on Mill Lane in Carbrooke. The mill is constructed of brick and has five floors. It features an intact original door at the base and original windows at intervals. Above the door, there is a date stone inscribed with "R.D. 1856," indicating the builder Richard Dewing. Although the cap frame and windshaft have been removed, the machinery from the wallover and sack hoist to the stones and vats remains intact.
