Description

This is a tower mill with a granary, dating from 1864. The mill is constructed of brick and stands six storeys high. It features a gallery at the second stage and a boat-shaped Norfolk cap with intact sails, although the fantail is missing. A tablet above the segmental arched door bears the inscription "E.W. 1864," indicating it was built by Edward Wyer. Windows, some of which have been renewed, are positioned at the cardinal points on each floor. All original mill machinery remains intact, including scales, sack hoists, and corn shutes. Originally, there were three pairs of stones in vats, but now there are two. The granary, which is now a house, adjoins the mill to the south. It is two storeys high, of brick construction, and has a gabled, pantiled roof. Four casements are set under segmental arches on the ground floor. A set-off marks the first floor, and there are three windows to the left of the double granary doors. Twentieth-century extensions have been added to the south and west.
