Description

16 and 18 Church Street is a shop and house built around 1830. In the 20th century, it was converted into a shop and office. The building is made of red brick, with the right half being roughcast and whitewashed, and the west return is tarred. It has a slate roof and is two storeys high with a two-window range. The right half features a 3/3 horned sash window on the ground floor and a 6/6 unhorned sash window on the first floor. The left part has a four-part display window to the left of a half-glazed door with a plain overlight, and a 6/6 unhorned sash window on the first floor. The roof includes an internal gable-end stack on the east side. Inside, there is a chamfered and tongue-stopped bridging beam on the ground floor.
