Description
Hall Farmhouse is a farmhouse that dates back to the 16th century and later. It is constructed from galletted flint with brick and some stone dressings, topped with black and red pantile roofs. The building has two storeys with an attic and features an off-centre two-storey gabled porch that includes a four-centred stone-dressed archway. This archway is decorated with wave mouldings, facetted bases, and spandrels that have small carved head label stops.
Above the porch, there is a 19th-century three-light mullion and transom window with an original moulded brick pediment. The farmhouse exhibits several keyed brick window jambs for blocked or reduced long windows on both the front and rear facades. The fenestration is irregular, including one sash window, three three-light mullion and transom casements, and a modern rectangular brick bay on the front facade. The rear features three three-light mullion and transom casements, one 19th-century tripartite sash window, and various later extensions.
The west gable end retains the rare survival of a garderobe outshut. The building has gable-end stacks and two axial stacks. Inside, there are roll-moulded beams in the hall and a winding stair located beside the eastern stack, along with several original doors. The roof has been modernized.
