Description
Fourways is a dwelling, possibly a former toll house, dating from the early 19th century with later extensions. The original block is constructed of flint with gault brick dressings, while the early extension features red brick dressings and the 20th-century extensions are made of colour-washed brick. The roofs are covered with black and red pantiles. The original cottage is two storeys high and has three bays with two-centred openings that include hood moulds. There are two blind windows on the first floor, and the other windows have 2-light Y-tracery. The central front door features blind tracery. The masonry is arranged in bands of flint with single courses of brick, and there are rusticated quoins. The extensions are not considered of special interest.
