Description
The Gamekeeper is a public house located in Old Buckenham, dating from the mid-18th century and refaced in brick during the mid-19th century. The building retains remnants of its timber-framed core and features a roof covered with black glazed pantiles. It stands two storeys high and is adorned with corner pilasters, as well as pilasters that frame two gabled porches added in the 20th century. The windows on both floors are sash style with glazing bars. The gabled roof has a ridge stack positioned to the right of the center and an internal gable stack on the left. Inside, there is a rebuilt fireplace, and the bridging beam displays stop-chamfered features with tongue stops. While most of the joists are original, some of the timberwork has been altered.
