Description
No. 19 High Street is a house that has been converted into a shop. It has a core dating from around 1700, but it underwent significant alterations in the late 18th century. The building is constructed of brick with burnt headers and features a pantiled roof. It stands two storeys tall with a dormer attic. The ground floor has a mid-19th century double fronted shop facade, which includes a central door. On either side of the door, there are canted bays supported by fluted timber columns on bases, topped with a timber architrave. The elevation is further enhanced by Corinthian pilasters. The first floor has five sash windows with glazing bars, which are set under gauged skewback arches. A brick cornice with a dentil frieze runs along the top, and there is a late 19th century raised parapet that obscures a single pedimented dormer in the gabled roof.
