Description
Ponder's Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 18th century and later. It is constructed of brick and features pantiled roofs. The building has a T-shaped plan with an L-shaped end addition and stands two storeys high. The south facade consists of three bays with 19th-century sash windows that have single vertical glazing bars, all set beneath skewback arches. To the right of the central front door is a tripartite ground floor window, while to the left is a later canted bay. The front door is framed by an arched doorcase with a broken dentilated pediment, pilasters, and paterae. The farmhouse also has a sawtooth cornice, gable-end stacks, and tumbling-in. Attached to the farmhouse is a service wing that features an early 19th-century raised canted bay with a miniature modillion cornice and three sash windows with glazing bars, with weatherboarding below and a plain dentilated cornice.
