Description
The statue of a lion, dating from 1909, is located on a pedestal that is visible from Sennowe Hall and Norwich Drive. The inscription on the pedestal states, "I was erected 1909 by T.A. Cooke Esq. to guard Sennowe Hall." The statue is made of stone and stands on a rendered brick pedestal, which features a surrounding plinth with two steps and decorative balls at each corner. In addition to the inscription about T.A. Cooke, there is another inscription dedicated to Virginia Margaret Cook (1939-78), who is buried nearby. The life-size lion is depicted in a couchant position with its left paw resting on a ball. The monument is enclosed by metal railings.
