Description

Frickley Villa is a house, later used as offices, dating from 1840. It is constructed of flint with gault brick dressings and a gault brick facade, topped with a slate roof. The house is two storeys high with a dormer attic, arranged over three bays. The central doorway features a six-panelled door set within a doorcase with panelled and fielded reveals. The doorcase is formed of reeded and fluted engaged columns supporting block entablatures and an open pediment, topped with a five-vaned fanlight. The ground floor has a recessed sash window with 6/6 glazing bars and gauged skewback arches to the right and left of the door. Three similar sash windows are on the first floor. The roof is gabled, with one sloping dormer fitted with a 20th-century casement. Internal gable-end stacks are present, with the southern stack cut down. The interior was not inspected.
