Description
Ivy Lodge is a house located on Bridge Street in Thetford, dating from the early 19th century. An outshut was added to the rear, and the entire structure was raised and re-roofed in the mid-19th century. The building features coursed clunch with flint and gault brick dressings, while the facade is entirely made of gault brick. It has a pantiled roof, which is black-glazed at the front. The house is two storeys high and consists of four bays. There is a half-glazed door to the left of the center, which is sheltered by a simple hood. To the left of the door is one 8/8 unhorned sash window, and to the right are two 6/6 similar sash windows, all of which have timber sash hoods. On the first floor, there are three 6/6 sash windows, with a fourth window that is now blocked to the left. The roof is gabled and features an internal gable-end stack on the south side. The rear of the house has various 19th-century additions. Inside, there is a stick baluster staircase with a ramped and wreathed handrail.
