Description

Church House is a house dating from the mid 17th century. It is constructed of colourwashed brick and features a pantiled roof. The building has two storeys and a central door that is located behind a mid 20th century sloping porch. The windows have architraves, and the upper floor windows include aprons. There are renewed cross casements, a sash window to the left of the porch with glazing bars, and a casement window to the right. An interrupted string course runs above the ground floor windows. The facade is enhanced by pilaster strips that carry rounded capital heads. An oval window is located on the north side of the house. The roof is gabled with a bell base and has a ridge stack positioned over the door.

At the rear, there is a porch with a shaped gable added in 1899. The ground floor has two casement windows, while the first floor features three, all from the 19th century and set under segmental heads. An early 20th century extension is present on the south side. The north side has a shaped gable with an internal stack and two oval windows on the first floor and two in the attic, with the first-floor windows being keyed. The pilaster strips of the facade continue to the close gable. Inside, the structure is partly timber framed, with a dining room that includes a bridging beam and wall plate adorned with ogival mouldings and triple diamond stops. The joists feature tongue and groove stops and sunk quadrant mouldings.
