Description

The Lodge is a house that was originally built as a gate lodge for New Place between 1879 and 1880 by the architect Philip Webb. It is constructed of red brick and has a T-shaped plan. The taller rear section features an old tile roof, while the lower front block has a fish scale tile roof with brick coped parapet gables. The building is one storey high with attics. The rear part has flush leaded casements and a hipped roof porch bay, while the front part is characterized by wood-mullioned leaded casements set in bevelled brick surrounds.
