Description

The Rectory is an early to mid 19th century house located on Hobbs Hill in Welwyn. It is built of yellow gault brick and features a low slate hipped roof with plain eaves. The building has two storeys and includes four evenly spaced recessed sash windows on the first floor, which are fitted with louvred shutters. On the ground floor, there are three French windows. The entrance door is adorned with panels featuring a Greek key pattern and has a glazed top panel. A wide, Chinese style cast iron porch enhances the entrance, supported by eight palmette colonnetes and featuring four latticework panels. At the eastern side, there is a red brick rear wing.
