Description
This building, located at 32 Mill Lane, was formerly known as the Welwyn Assembly Rooms. It features a front that dates back to 1752, with a timber-framed interior and a rear wing added in 1765. The structure is made of red brick and has steep old tile roofs, forming a T-plan layout. It stands two storeys high and has a west-facing front with five windows. The first floor has three 3-pane sash windows, each surrounded by plain architraves, along with some 18th-century ground floor sash windows. The eaves are dentilled. On the south elevation of the rear wing, which is part of Nos 4 and 6 Orchard Road, there is a central blocked round-headed door and plain corbelled brick eaves.
