Description
Appletrees is a house that was formerly two cottages, dating from the late 16th century or early 17th century. It features a timber frame that is cased in early 18th century red brick, with some areas displaying vitreous diapering. The building has an old tile roof and stands two storeys high. It includes four segmental-headed leaded casements, most of which have 18th century pegged oak frames. The central entrance is a six-fielded panel door with a moulded architrave and shaped brackets. On the lower left side, there is a chimney stack with four polygonal shafts, while the right side has a single box dormer and a large square stack. The rear has a parapeted gable on the west with round-headed windows. The property was converted into a single house around 1937.
