Description
Hill House is a double pile house built around 1800, located in Old Hatfield. It is constructed of red brick and features plain tile roofs with front and gable-end parapets. The front parapet rises in the center to create a small pediment with an oculus. The house has three storeys, a basement, and an attic.
On the façade, there are three triple-hung sash windows, with the ground and first-floor windows having segmental heads above stuccoed fan reliefs. The ground floor windows are fitted with louvred shutters. A central wooden Doric porch with a pediment is supported by slender columns that have fluted capitals and similar pilaster responds. The porch also features semicircular leaded fan and fielded reveals, with steps down either side that have plain iron railings. Above the second floor windows, there is a stuccoed modillioned cornice.
