Description
No. 44 Park Street is a small house, probably dating from the 16th century. It features a timber frame with plastered walls and a chequered pattern of 18th-century red brick. The roof is covered with plain tiles, and the house has one storey with attics. On the ground floor, there are two segmental-headed casement windows with early oak frames. The house also includes two 20th-century gabled dormers and a 20th-century single-storey extension on the south side. A 19th-century glazed front porch adds to its character. Notably, there is a large 17th-century red brick oven and chimney stack on the north gable end, with sloping sides that are partly tiled and partly enclosed by a 20th-century weatherboarded shed.
