Description

The Rose and Crown Public House, formerly a coach house, is located on the north side of the car park in Welwyn. This building dates back to the early 17th century and is constructed from red brick in a rectangular shape, featuring two stories and a steeply pitched old tile roof. The gable ends have parapets with tumbled brickwork and moulded corbels. There is a band at the first floor level. The south elevation includes a central wide-plank door on the first floor, surrounded by bevelled oak, along with two wood-mullioned three-light casements, all set in bevelled brick surrounds. There is a similar door on the left side of the first floor, while a modern double door is located on the right side. Additionally, there is a 19th-century extension to the west.
