Description
Skimpans Farm is a house that was originally a farmhouse, built in the 17th century and extended in the 19th century. It features painted red brick and roughcast walls, with both plain tile and slate roofs. The building is arranged in a U-shaped block and has two storeys. The rear range and part of the right wing are from the original house, with the rear section displaying segmental-headed wood casements on the ground floor and flat-headed windows on the first floor. The right wing has a gable end with an off-centre stack. Attached to this wing, facing the road, is a two-window mid-19th century block that includes recessed sash windows and a slate roof. The rear section has a one-storey left side with a segmental-headed door. The left wing dates from the late 18th or early 19th century and features an 8/8-pane sash window and a wide plank door. There is also a modern garage door on the end.
