Description
The Old Maypole Public House is a public house that dates from the 17th century or earlier, with origins said to be around 1520. It features a late 19th century or early 20th century brick casing that has been painted. The building has a steeply pitched plain tile roof, which includes a 17th century red brick stack with four joined square shafts positioned behind the ridge at the center. The structure is two storeys high with attics and showcases segmental-headed sash windows. There are narrow single casements on the first floor, located to the left and right of the center. A gabled porch is also present. To the front left, there is a weatherboarded outbuilding with a slate roof, dating from the 19th or early 20th century. Inside, the public house features a broad inglenook fireplace with brickwork recesses.
