TQ 09 NW SARRATT CHURCH LANE (West side) Church End 5/275 Goldingtons GV II
Large house. Mid C18 rebuilding, C16 origins. c.1820-40 raised by a storey and stuccoed. Extended later C19. Stuccoed brick. Shallow hipped slate roof. 3 storeys. Symmetrical 5 bay front. Central entrance: 8 raised panelled door in dentilled architrave. Early C19 fret patterned reveals and pilasters to Greek Doric portico, paired columns, empty frieze, guttae band, mutules. Flanking tall sashes in reveals with single glazing bars. Plinth. Plat band to first floor: central blind opening with flanking sashes. Second floor smaller 9 pane sashes. Pilaster strips at ends. Bracketed boxed eaves. Right end stack. Cross axial ridge stack to left of centre. 4 bay left return, ground floor French windows, plat band to first floor, sashes as at front. 2nd bay from front has lower windows to stairs. Stack to rear. C19 2 storey 5 bay service range to rear. Set back to left, ground floor French windows, first floor sashes. Projecting to right, stock brick with red brick dressings. Gauged brick flat arched heads to tripartite sashes, a ground floor canted bay. Interior not inspected. Attached at right end of facade is a brick wall with a blocked pointed archway through.
