Description

This is a farmhouse with outbuildings, likely dating back to the 17th century or possibly earlier, with the main block constructed around 1740 and 20th-century additions. The building is primarily red brick, with some timber framing visible at the rear, and has a hipped tiled roof.

The main block is five bays wide by four bays long, standing three storeys high. The original entrance front now faces southwest. It features a central entrance with a fanlight and a glazed door, flanked by pilasters supporting a bracketed hood. The windows are mostly glazing bar sashes with gauged brick flat arches, with a molded key block above the first-floor center window. Second-floor windows are two-light leaded pane casements. The building has a plinth, molded plat bands, and a modillioned eaves cornice.

The current entrance front, on the right return, includes a 20th-century entrance with a fanlight, side lights, and an open pediment. Below are two dummy sashes with cambered heads, otherwise following the design of the front. A blocked window and a stack are also present on this return.

The rear elevation showcases second-floor casements. Several wings extend from the lower storeys. To the rear right and projecting from the right return is an 18th-century or earlier two-story wing with a double-hipped roof. It has two, three, and four-light casements with leaded panes, some with cambered heads, and an extruded stack with offsets.

A 17th-century range, one story high with an attic, extends further to the rear, with exposed framing visible on the rear face. It contains 20th-century casements. Attached to this is a weatherboarded range with gables over an open carriageway. A two-story, four-bay range projects into the yard, featuring a brick ground floor and a weatherboarded first floor with loft doors. It also has a catslide roof and a stock brick projection to the rear. Finally, 20th-century additions are located to the rear left of the main block, including a three-bay, two-story section and a one-story section with a glazed tetrastyle Doric loggia.

The interior was not inspected.
