Description
The property comprises two houses, Knowle and Ramblers Cottage, dating to the late 18th or early 19th century, with later 19th-century extensions. The construction is primarily flint with red brick dressings and extensions, and some cement rendering. The roof is tiled.
Knowle, on the left-hand side, is a broad two-bay structure with a central entrance. The ground floor has cambered heads over C20 sashes, while the first floor features two-light iron frame casements. Ramblers Cottage, attached to the right, is a single-bay dwelling with a ground-floor entrance. It has a sixteen-pane sash with a cambered head on the ground floor and a two-light iron frame casement on the first floor. A red brick external stack with offsets and an oversailing cap is located at the left end. The roof slopes in a catslide fashion over a lean-to outshut to the rear left. Original stacks are situated at the original right end and a later stack is extruded to the right end. The right gable end and rear elevation are cement rendered.
The rear of the property features two two-storey brick wings with later 19th-century doors and casements. There is also a single-storey red brick central outshut. The interior has not been inspected. The property is included on the list for its group value.
