Description

This is a bridge built in 1837 that carries a railway over the north end of a road. It was designed by engineer Robert Stephenson for the London and Birmingham Railway. The bridge features a skew arch made of stock brick, with stone voussoirs on both sides. It has battered pilaster buttresses that support the splayed abutments. Stone bands are present on the parapets, which have been largely rebuilt. The tunnel associated with the bridge is approximately 25 meters long.
