Description

Pound Cottage is a house dating from around 1600, with a floor inserted and brick casing added in the 18th century. There is also a brick rear extension built around 1974. The building features a timber frame on a brick sill, with white weatherboarding on the north side and brick casing on the west and south sides, along with a tile-hung gable on the south. The house has steep old red tile roofs and is 1½ storeys tall, facing west. It includes two gabled plastered dormers at the eaves and three 2-light flush casement windows set under segmental arches. The entrance is now located in the extension. Historically, this was the pound keeper's cottage and once served as a 'charity cottage' for the poor of the parish.
