Description
Vine Cottage is a house dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of buff brick with rubbed red brick flat arches above the front windows. The house features hipped old red tile roofs, with a slated outshut at the rear of the right-hand part. This L-shaped building has two storeys and a cellar, facing south with a northwest rear wing. The symmetrical south front has three windows, which are recessed sash windows with plastered reveals, typically featuring 8/8 panes, except for the narrower window above the central door, which has 6/6 panes. The central door is framed heavily and is accessed by three steps, topped with a flat hood supported by shaped brackets. On the west and north sides of the rear wing, there are segmental arched casement windows on each floor, along with a separate door on the west side. The front block has two large chimneys on the rear wall and a central staircase. This building was formerly the Bailiff's house.
